    EMS what and where.

Good day, looking into engine management systems and was hoping to get some experiences from people on here of what and where to buy and also who or where we can tune our cars after we install them.

a quick search brings up a AEM system, but wow $1300.00. speaking with other members on this site didnt think they were that much.

I have a 96 civic , cai , header, exhaust, upgraded plugs ,wires, 245cc inj, future plans for a swap but since a ems is reusable, want to play with what I have right now.

    Thanks for thoughts and help.

Spend the money on the swap first. No ems will make a sohc worth it.

i thought I did but the deal really seemed to sketchy, i wanted to meet ,person couldnt, wanted to hear it run, lost the key, so never worked out, so still looking.
ultimatly I would like like a quick acceleration, not crazy top end. nice handling honda. nice sounding exhaust note. able to pass when I want.
I was hoping to find a whole si to buy so I could change over to Manual, that way I have all parts needed. I thought if I got a reprogramable EMS then no matter what I end up with, I can always retune.

Doesn't look like you need an aftermarket EMS for the setup you have now. Seriously stop dumping money into your single cam auto. The day you get a B16 or B18C you will regret every dollar you spent on the D.

I wouldn't bother with buying anything until you go B series. Then you will go with Hondata S300. (when the time comes to actually need it, and justify spending $700+ on engine management)

A stock B18B would be a huge project and an upgrade from what you have. And would cost you $300-$500 when you find someone scrapping a car...

if your car is basically stock, then tune it yourself..

if you get into some crazy fucking mods that gain you millions of horse powers like a fuel pressure regulator (for example) then bring it to fullblown

You live in Fort Frances? Take a drive over to Winnipeg, there are lots of integras there in the summer. In Manitoba you can buy temp insurance and just drive it home.

Or international falls, bemidji, fargo, grand forks, grand rapids, steinbach, thunder bay...

we live in northern ontario, you'll almost never get what your looking for right in your backyard.

the last three vehicles i've bought all came from no closer than 1200kms away. Barrie, Mississauga, Vancouver.

DAAA FAAQQQ???? you can spend 10k on the motor you have or like 2 grand on a swap. the stock swap will make more power. you dont need any type of engine management at this point. an exhaust an intake and some napa spark plugs arent going to net you much. get a b18c gsr motor and manual transmission.

not worth it huh? ok ,I thought a EMS and a good tune would pull out 10-12hp. maybe Im wrong.
Tune it myself?...so get myself chrome or neptune and some chips to flash?
    ignore next silly regulator comment
Ya ive been checking lots of non local sites and will continue to do so.
and again, I thought a EMS are reprogramable so It can be used again when I do eventually find the swap engine I need,
ok thanks everyone.I can see that swap is the way to go first, cheers.
