Good video, they mad that after all the incidents they had back in 2013 with people going off the track and the accidents. The most important part of that video is at 8:16-8:55, trust me on that one. They also forget to tell you to bring an extra pair underwear in case you go off the track at 200+kph

It's more of a just incase thing, I've yet to use mine but I've been close to needing it

Also make you sure you bring plenty of water with you and that you drink close to a bottle every couple sessions. It's very exhausting being on the track for 20 minutes at a time, especially when you have to concentrate about what you're doing and at high speeds. I always found myself getting dehydrated as the day went on and I would drink a bottle of water immediately after every session.

A team! Be it a couple friends, guys on salary, or your local car club.

Always nice to have help with your car, encouragement, people to figure out what obscure rules mean or a bunch of shoulders to cry on when your front left wheel flies off at 200+kph.

Nah....some people got it and some don't...as long as you have fun.

Don't be scared to give the track a try, just don't be a hero and you'll be fine

Hey...nabs why didn't you ever take me for a ride in your car? Lol

I was going to and I wanted to but you were drag racing when I was on the track and then after the 2 accidents they stopped letting passengers go on the track

Let's go to a different track and I'll take you for a ride!

I rode shot gun with Nabs on autocross last year and that was frickin awesome. I can only imagine if it's on an actual track

I wish that people from town would actually go on the track. There are really only 2 people from town that have gone on the track at Brainerd with me and it makes it a lot more fun, especially if you're in the same group

I've had 5 passengers with me on the track, 2 of them got to go on off-track excursions at high speeds with me and I'm pretty sure Cale was getting close to being sick

As long as your maintenance is up to date and you have the proper equipment, i.e. high temp brake pads and fluid, and you don't push yourself too far there's not much to worry about. Plus you can always get track insurance and there are instructors that will talk you through the course, corner by corner. It's not like your going out there to race, everyone is there to have fun. Try it once and you'll most likely be hooked.

I really wish they still let passengers in cars at MAP, it's a great way to show people what it's like to be on the track and get them hooked on it. If I could I'd seriously take 3 or 4 people with me at a time

Track racing is where it's at. 1/4s are boring in my opinion. My all time fave is closed dirt roads and the Targa.

Drag racing can be pretty fun too. I found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would and you can see how much every little thing affects your time almost right away, but it can get a bit repetitive after a while.

Autocross doesn't even come close to the road coarse though IMO

Agreed. I do track days at TMP just south of Hamilton. Used to be an old airport converted to a track. You can bring your own car there or rent a BMW ### or a ### ###. (Can't remember) took the 450 out there this past summer... Sounded like she was going to implode. Haha. Gotta find a new toy this summer. God I wish one of my Skodas were done so I could track it. Or even enter it in the Targa.

Looked it up. They rent the Toyota Aristo and BMW 540i.
