    Re: Possible Lots for Autoslalom

We've had the TBCA before and the pavement is race-able but pretty rough. However, there was an incident which lost us the lot. We can always try approaching them again. With such a big /open/ property, crowd control is the big thing and we require man power. It all comes down to how many people show interest at the beginning of this season to volunteer their time at these events.

such a piss off about the CLE. Ive been surfing google maps and keep seeing it, it would be so perfect. What about some of the schools in town? I cant think of one that has a big lot off hand but I'm sure there's at least one with a decent lot.

Marc, what exactly is needed for crowd control? Just a bright reflective vest and standing at the entrance kind of deal? I wouldn't mind volunteering for that as long as I'm not working those two days.

^ precisely. But we are also looking for people to step up into more active roles in order to have more slaloms this year. We need volunteers do to check cars through tech, to do timing and scoring, lot prep (i.e. sweeping), and someone to bring the equipment (table, tent, compressor, brooms, etc.). If we have people take charge to 'run' an event - fill one of these roles for an event or two this season, it would really make holding more events possible.

The incident didn't lose us the lot....

Putting all the dirt that was swept up on the grass had the lot keeper saying "fuck that"

No one told me that! Then there's always that chance we could sweet talk our way back onto that lot if we stop wrecking their grass.

Well how about the first meeting of the summer race season we have a list of things people can volunteer for and see if that works? I wouldn't mind doing shit when I'm not driving.

Parks and Recreation.... Well cars get parked, and racing is recreation. Soo?

I haven't become a member, but I helped sweep the auditorium that race. I hope to have weekends off and would like to help when I can. I do have physical limitations, but yeah. Involvement.

    Possible Lots for Autoslalom

Hammarskjold has a decent lot but there are 2 dividers that run the length of the lot but there's also a good pit area
