    2002 Nissan Sentra

    Is it a squeal or more of a whine? I've always noticed my cars making a whining noise at full steering lock, best to just back off a bit. Also check the power steering fluid and make sure it's not low.

    Sounds like wet rubber on wet rubber, just a constant slipping noise, will go away the instant I take it off full steer

    That sounds like the power steering pump whining. If it is excessively loud try replacing your serpentine belt.

    The older Nissans are weird with belts. They will slip if you put them on with normal belt tension.
    They like to be almost banjo tight.

    Little update for those that are interested;
    fixed up the cracks in the paint but I see some surface rust coming on the rocker panels. Not concerned about it really. After fixing up the paint I also put 2 layers of VHT Nightshade on the tail lights. Driving the car lots, sitting at 223,000kms now

    Found a catback specifically for the GXE that I found off of the B15U forums for extremely cheap, being the exhaust is not made anymore and no one is interested in it. Good price, still in the box, reputable on the forums. I say it's worth picking up

    as for future plans, still on the fence about coils, being they're the price of the car I'll have to see if it's really worth it. 4/2/1 race header is also something I'm considering. But it all depends on what breaks first being a 14 year old car

    223 KMS on a 2002 sentra!

    Do not put any modifications on this car unless they are super easy to take off (shift knob, cd player)

    Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these cars were not the highest quality, and are cheap to buy used for a reason. Be happy if you get a year or 2 max out of this car. Start saving for something nicer instead.

    I owned a 2001 sentra and a 2006 (first cars) ... 2001 was nothing but problems and the head gasket went at about 150K

    With your car at 223K, I say its already living on borrowed time.

    Yup, I've been told this a large handful of times, that's why I'm being careful. 240sx is in the plans but there's no way in hell I can afford insurance on 2 cars. Just hoping this can last me through college for the next year or so. Then I'll either drive it into the ground or sell it to the scrap yard
