Doesn't look like 405 guys will qualify unless they do some tuning. Crow had a 4.45 and 4.3 something
3.89 is fastest pass. So far
Nate pritchett from pinks is running 4.22 ish in a mustang
chief went a 4.26 in Q1. wont be enough in radial vs world. i think shawn with the murder nova is going to run 275 so he should qualify if he can back up his test passes. 3.89 from keith haney in his pro nitrous car with a radial lol. stevie fast came in at #2 with a 3.91. expect to see dewayne mills in the .80s along with a few others by the end of qualifying. looks like itll be a show
edit: chiefs sitting @14 with the 4.26. will be interesting

1/8th mile is so boring. Run these bitches out the back door let's see that horsepower work

I... agree. Not to detract from what these cars are capable of, but I hate how it's a "thing" now because of some shitty reality TV show. People are obsessed with going 5s for 5k these days.
Oh, and fuck no-prep shit too. This whole fake "professional amateur" crap doesn't fool me. No-prepping a full out racecar PROVES WHAT? If, maybe, you were lined up on the street because that happens in a promod, you'd be a monster? You're a big man because you take risks with your pile? I don't get it.
It's like playing hardball or soft ball . Just different ways to make competition.
Everything starts out new and they progresses from there till the cars get to fast and expensive. Then someone dreams up a new class and then that snowballs
I personally like 1/4 better . But when some one oils down track 1/8 takes half the time to clean up.......so...that could be a benefit?
I'm feeling it! 1/8th mile isn't my first choice but.....I'd run the 660 heads up race in bir.
these classes were running 1/8th before any tv show. and if your car fits the rules, why wouldnt you show up for 5 10 15 or in this case 50k? good luck finding that payout for a 9.90 bracket class.
and im not sure of the issue with no prep racing? like the small tire stuff, its another attempt to level the playing field, so its less about cubic dollars and more about who can get whatever they showed up with down the 660 the quickest. anything can happen on an unprepped surface, and that gives the little guy a chance who normally wouldnt be able to field a competitive car at a big class race

I hear what you're saying Brandon but I believe it's more of a money game when you deal with tight spec classes. The small tire thought is just an illusion to keep you thinking that its cheap to be competitive because everyone will be limited on traction.
Dudes in the 275dr true street(which is the least altered chassis class) are running 140+ in the 1/8th....that can't be cheap.

I also find 660' a tad boring, yes those cars are absolute monsters and running a 3.89 1/8th is insane. I dunno i like like to hear them screaming by the 1000' like drag week or anything like that. Watching lutz or ky kelly drive their cars 1000+ miles and run in the 6's in the 1/4 is a tad more impressive to me. To each their own though. Im not a street outlaws hater by any means.

I agree Curtis, it still comes down to $ and with enough of it, guys still make it happen on a small tire. butch kemp will be in the 4.70s this year in ultra, all motor..
thats why i think the no-prep stuff is a more effective equalizer. although the dr stuff is super impressive, the extensive track prep is a well known aspect. different game without the glue. the bigger guys with the best tuners will still be running out front, however it will give the other guys who cant afford a 481x a shot.

also, youll never see kye kelly's car driving 1000 miles on the street, or turning the clocks on at the track. lutz on the other hand is a badass.
