Advice for towing with my CVT Outlander

So as most of you know I have a 2013 Mitsubishi Outalnder. 2.4 with a CVT Transmission. When the time comes for me to move back home to Ottawa I'm going to have to bring a few things with me but just enough to fit in the 5x10 U haul trailer with automatic brakes. My manual states that the maximum trailer towing capacity is 1500 lbs with assisted braking. Give or take it'll be about a 2000 kms one way trip. Going the trailer route will be saving me a bunch of money since I won't have to pay for kms or gas for a gas guzzling moving truck. My only concern is, will the CVT transmission handle it? Even though I should be under the maximum towing capacity.

Or should I spend the extra cash and go with the moving truck option? But keep in mind that I'll have to pay for a U haul car trailer as well.

Is your car still under warranty? If so do it.

Very true. Doesn't say I can't tow. My WRX manual states no hauling whatsoever...pretty disappointed about that.

I agree, mitsubishi has a 10 year powertrain for a reason, and if it blows up, you will be bringing it to a dealer thats NOT in Thunder Bay so you probably won't get fucked around and you'll end up with a new tranny. I say if the manual states it, go for it.
