Thunder at the Bay - August 20-21, 2016

This is the first year of this event that is being hosted by the CLE, Bay City Mopar Association and a huge chunk of Thunder Bay's automotive community. It's shaping up to be a huge event with multiple local car clubs participating and vehicles coming in from out of town. The event will cater to a wide variety of vehicles and interest. Yes, there is an Import category which I made sure was included! Along with various classics categories there are also Ice Racer, Ice Bikes, Jeeps, work-in-progress and more. I'm hoping to see some great representation from all you in the Import (includes Japanese and European cars) category because there will be tons of prizes given out as well as a best in each category.

This Motorsports Extravaganza will take place on the CLE grounds over a two-day period. There will be 24-hour security, participants are welcome to leave their vehicle(s) overnight to keep your spot or come back with it the next day, whichever you prefer! Attractions will be the cars of course, plus various workshops on fab work, a special displays in the Dove Building featuring rare and collector cars, a BBQ, a cruise, and even an entire theater at Silver City that will be playing car movies for everyone to watch.

See registration form below for info on entry fee. If you would like a hard-copy to fill out and enter the show, please post in this thread or PM me.

So it's the same as the George Jeffery's shows from years ago? Also why is there a Jeep class? Shouldn't that just be amalgamated with the truck class?

I think it is nice to see so many different class out there. Something like this can open up this city for more car clubs. To many "old" people don't like noise and such, so something like this might help out the car scene.

The main complainer of the city, Robert Rickards lives on northern Ave right across from the cleaning grounds. He's the one that got the autocross pretty much banned from there, complained about the music from the tramp Park, etc.

Should give Robert some free passes to trampoline park or movie tickets or something. Buy him out. Give him something to do instead of complaining.

I added a copy of the registration form to the first post. It's only $20 to enter the car show for the entire weekend if you pre-register before June 30, this includes two weekend admission passes. This show is on a much larger scale, will feature a great variety of vehicles and have more attractions then the George Jeffrey car show from years past. This event is sanctioned and supported by the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition and it shaping up the be one of the largest car shows the city has seen in a long time.

Is there going too be a screening process for the vehicles? No offence but, no one wants too go to car show and see a bunch of rusty piles with hids and cut springs.

That would be a good idea. It says in the registration form that Bay City Mopar can refuse registration if they want.

Bruh. They are Racelands. And that's the "Special" Interest category.

So is June 30th the registration date, or can someone register after if spots are still open?

Re: Thunder at the Bay - August 20-21, 2016

You can register after. The pre-reg date is to encourage people to sign up so they know numbers, you save some money off the registration fee and the first 100 registrants get a special swag bag. I've already dropped off two registration forms since yesterday. Keep in mind every car club in the city and surrounding area is involved so registration spots will go quick!
