    question about LED vs. HID

hey guys, has anyone here tried the LED headlight conversions? is it anything like HID were as if i put it in my stock houseing the light will scatter, or is it more like a normal bulb but a hell of alot brighter?
just want to know before i buy headlight bulbs for my truck, if these are decent i will just get the LED kit.

Re: question about LED vs. HID

led and hid in reflector housing are both poor choices. LED even moreso - the "output" they claim is far lower than HID and the optics are way off. The only way to do LED right now is with a collector and a lens to focus the optics (think Prius LED, Corolla etc.)

LED work really well for off road lights like cubes and bars, but as headlights they're garbage.

Correct me if I am wrong...

But don't LEDs run a hell of a lot cooler? So in winter your LED headlights/taillights will allow snow build up and a HID or halogen will make heat and melt the snow?

In anything less than - 15 your headlights don't really make enough heat to melt the snow unless you're stopped anyway.

Not correct. Hid won't melt snow or anything either. Especially in projectors.

Led heat sinks burn hot as fuck so watch what they touch.
