    Nissan Buying Mitsubishi Shares

    http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/05/...ol-mitsubishi/

Last month, it was alleged that Mitsubishi Motors had been manipulating fuel economy testing procedures in the Japanese market, and given the companys long lasting struggles, many wondered if that might spell the end of the brand. Not yet it seems.
Yesterday, it was announced that Nissan will be buying a controlling stake in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation 34 per cent of the company at US 2.2 billion dollars to be exact. Mitsubishi had already been building kei cars for Nissan, so the move makes sense; but what exactly this means for the two companies remains to be seen. Nissan clearly values Mitsubishis EV and small car capabilities, so those areas are likely where the crossovers will occur. But given the recent track record of both companies, its probably not a good idea to get your hopes up about the return of the Evo using GT-R technology. Although, imagine that
Even so, this seems a lot better than the alternative of seeing Mitsubishi Motors disappear altogether. Maybe theres still life in the brand yet.

They'll do nothing cool, and continue to pretend EVs are the future.

EV hybrid sports cars could be extremely cool. Isn't that what the NSX is now? Think, Challenger Hellcat with electric motors powering the front....

All electric has a very real place in the future - but I think far-future will be fuel cell again, like hydrogen.. Or Iron Man arc reactor style powered

A hellcat that's even heavier, wouldn't you need a DZ license? It would need a parachute to stop if it was any heavier

It's not even 2000 pounds heavier than your BRZ. That's like an EF civic in weight difference. Not even a big deal.

That being said, your car and my car weigh really similar.. I did not know that.
