Reading A/F with Carb Cadillac CTS SBC

Which is best to measure A/F on my sbc 355 engine. I have the option to use the wide band a/f sensor or the o2 sensor. I think I can read both. Either way I'm still not sure what I'm looking at so far I have the a/f sensor hooked up and reading it with my otc live data scanner and can read the ma current but still not sure what I'm looking at. Can someone try and help me through this so I use use it to tune my carb. I'll post some readings after work and I just did a metering rod change so will verify it is working and that I get different readings than yesterday. I think 0 ma is stoich

You'd need to use the wide band o2 sensor if you want any real data to tune with. The stock o2 is narrow band and won't tell you much.

Re: Reading A/F with Carb Cadillac CTS SBC

Well if I could afford a better carb I would already have it. My whole plan was a low dollar build and I'm sure I can get this 1406 to work well enough, and its

good on gas for what I'm running. Heres some numbers I think its a 2.6v system but my pid reads ma not V

Cruise was 0.020 ma then went 3 steps richer(cruise) and read 0.031 ma.

So I guess sensor is working? and now I shoot for 0.000ma Is this correct? + should be lean?

Then I do power mode then do the secondaries. How many guys on here running carbs on the street?

You need to get yourself a stand alone wideband setup to be able to accurately know the afr
