Soon to be a Golf R owner

Always loved cars from an early age but it took till I was 40 to finally buy something fast. Well I've almost bought it. I figured I would jump into the group early after seeing the TBMOTORING.COM URL plastered on the back of someone else's Golf R. I never knew there was such an organized group of enthusiasts and I will probably be picking your brains as I get to know my new car.
I look forward to participating in events and meeting some of you in person.

    Cheers,
    Mat

Welcome to the forum. If you'd like to see some Golf R's in person, come out to our meets as there are a few member's here that own them. Good luck on the purchase and be sure to post some pictures up when it happens.

I happen to know Marc has TBMotoring Stickers for Golf R owners. He popped the R32s Sticker Virginity.

    What colour are you getting?

I'm hopefully getting the first Limestone Grey Metallic in town. Should be a nice low maintenance colour.

You're going to fit in just fine with the Volkswagen community

No you are not!!!! I hate you!

I wanted an LSG and was pissed when I found out that the US got it, and Canaduh got Reflex Silver. Like we don't have enough reflex silver MK4's around. I ended up getting Oryx White.

I am excited to see LSG in colour though!

So VW is doing orders now for the 2017's? When is the estimated build. Mine had a quick build turn around. Ordered in Feb, delivered in May so hopefully they keep that up in 2017.

    Is this your first VW?

ARRRR is taken I think. If you don't take RGASM I'll be tempted to steal it for the R32. Am I allowed to call it a R36 with the 3.6 swap? I need a ruling on this one.

Sidenote, Thunder Bay supposedly has the highest number of Golf Rs per capita (likely just MK7s, as I haven't seen another MK4 or MK5 in a long long time)

This is my first VW and as far as I know there have already been some 2017s landing at dealerships around the country. Although, I was told I wouldn't see mine for 3 or 4 months.

My wife has already veto'd it.

DSG (I'm too lazy to row my own) with Tech Package and Pretorias. I would have picked up the black model that was at the dealership for a while but I wanted those Pretorias too badly.
