$500 Grocery Getting Saab Aero Build

    2003 Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon/Estate/SportCombi

Bought it for $500. Guy delivered it 70km/40mi.

Got him to wash it before it got here. So far I have just cleaned her up and tested the turtle wax headlight restore product (disappointment galore).

    As I have a lot on the go, this will be long term so do not expect frequent updates. I have included progress as well as some questions. ;ol;

Before the engine clean: (half assed as I don't have access to water)

    Engine after clean (no water)

    Headlights BEFORE Turtle Wax:

Headlights after Turtle Wax: (I strongly suggest "Micro Mesh")

    Problems that need addressing:

    Somethings leaking:

Oh... looks like something else maybe leaking:

Really need to replace the dildo-dipstick. Can't read it!

    Perma Attach the mirror:

Seat Heat & Vent panel lighting (no image but the rear window switches center console light as well)

Lastly... Was she worth $500? She purrs like a kitten. But needs windshield, tires, brakes, and possibly clutch?

Feel free to throw help and ideas out there... Gonna be a learning curve: First time dealing with a Non-Euro-Euro

Latest thing was the badge replacement. Even though this is a cheap budget build... I have Saab Pride. haha Have the rear one on order but got the front one done. All the DIY videos and posts I saw just has someone going around and around for a long time. I simple popped the hood... Pushed from the underside and cut with a plastic putty knife.

The back however was around and around for ever! haha

    The back:

(It was a pain in the ass, Even with the plastic... scraped some paint. ;oops: Going to sand it down primer and touch up to prevent under badge corrosion before I put the new one on. I have a week anyways before the new badge comes in from either Czech Republic or Germany)

It's in good shape for what you picked it up for. The car definitely suits you, should be a great project! Think of all the groceries you can get, haha.

    So safety list as follows:

Machine the rotors. (Got new brakes anyways)
    4 Tires
    Resonator Pipe Assembly
    Front Sway Bar Links
    Windshield
    Headlight bulbs
    Wipers
    Repair Driver side mirror
    Battery.

Not bad for a rare car ive always had a raging hardon for... For $500. #winning

Not bad. Can't argue with the price and that it's a wagon. Very practical.
