1992 Acura Integra RS ..I did a thing

    Let talk, more info.
I bought a Honda, I don't know what to do now..

1992 Acura Integra with a B18 non-vtec, 120,000km one owner, rust checked every year since she got it, it has two spots of rust that need attending but otherwise it's flawless.

Needs a fuel tank for safety, my question is what are my replacement options? Do they make plastic tanks for this? Or do I need to buy another metal one? Would a fuel cell be worth while in comparison to replacing the existing tank?

I might use this for autocross/ice racing so I don't know the regulations for fuel cells if they're required or not.

I would prefer to just use this for autocross seeing how it's so clean, ice racing will be mean to it, we'll see what happens.

Put a stock style metal tank in, they are cheap enough, and will last longer than the car. Fuel cell is a pain in the ass and wont pass safety.

Also, If the rear brake lines need to be done, when the tank it out is the only time you can do them properly.

Neat pickup though, even 3rd gen integras aren't popping up for sale that often anymore.

    I have vtec heads.

Find a donor car and do a manual swap first. Don't get ahead of yourself. Honda motors pop up all the time, a B20 isn't special anyways.

When your new car panic goes away, and if you actually decide to go through with your ideas, message me if you like.

I vote keep it stock, get it safetied, and manual swap when you have the time.... You have many cars, decide what you want this to be and minimize your fleet before you get serious. Otherwise, nothing gets done.

I see you understand the car board game well. The idea with the B20 was leave the b18 alone and drive it, build the B20 with b16 VTEC head and when I'm ready swap it all over with a 5 speed, depending on my hoard count and time, the CR-V is kind of a 5 speed AWD conversation which has been done to many civics before so that is a possibility with enough free time. He'll, I've seen a video series of a guy bolt on CR-V AWD drivetrain onto a Civic with a D series, anything is possible with these little cars, I've always loved them, just never really knew what I wanted to build because there are so many different directions.

Anyway, I've answered my first question which is that no, there are no plastic tanks, a new tank is $139 Canadian shipped, so I'm just buying a replacement tank and calling it a day until spring rolls around and I start driving this.

As for a fuel cell, I gave up on that quickly after I started pricing parts out, might rise again depending what I do with this B20/AWD setup.. lots of thinking to do, don't expect a build anytime soon.

Anyway, thanks for the help, going with a replacement metal tank was the best option.

    Re: ..I did a thing

your better off sticking with the stock tank anyways, if your worried about it rusting just do as ive done in the past and bedline it before install
