Problem with my Factory Stereo HELP!!

so the truck has its first real problem..

    2004 f150 fx4

factory in dash 6 disc changer with factory sub woofer option,

    the problem is:

for the past couple weeks the stereo would randomly turn itself off and come back on, now it just turned off all together, no power getting to it at all.
i checked all fuses with anythign relating to the stereo orr accessories delay of the truck includeing the under hood relay with no luck,
i removed the factory stereo from the dash and checked all wires for breaks etc with no luck. put it all back together still doesnt work, i disconected the batterie and waited 30 mins then reconeccted it and nothing different.

i have not used a multi meter as i do not own one, that will be the next step.
just figured i would post this up here maybe there is someone with more knowledge in this area that might have some suggestions?
any and all help is greatly appreciated.

its definatly a power wire i just need to figure out witch one it is and were it is.

i noticed that if you turn the key in the on position without starting the truck the stereo works just like normal, but then once its started it just doesnt seem to have any power..
then when i started the truck at work to come home the stereo magically works again...
i need to trace this down and fix it before it becomes a bigger problem.
