Cool 2008 Subaru Impreza - my log

Well I Have this posted up on the Toronto Subaru Club boards, and I figured I may as well share it here to for those who want to see. Ignore the old references of things to be installed, or if there are dates or anything as I am just copying over the relevant posts.

I finally decided to write down/ log my different/unique/diy modifications. I’ve finally gotten to a point where I am satisfied with the appearance/ handling and don’t have any more big plans for a while (not that anything I’ve done thus far is “big” compared to most other cars on this forum lol) Feel free to comment, give criticism, or compliments! I have sporadically posted some of these mods/ pictures on NASIOC and have had great feedback and even inspired a few people, helping them out with the DIY/how to’s through pm’s. With that being said if anybody had any questions or needs help just ask, I’ve done all this myself and am always willing to help out a fellow member.

    (From my introduction post)
The Subaru bug bit me early. At 17 I got my grandparents 1990 Subaru legacy 2.2 n/a. She treated me well up until her "retirement" lol 3 years ago. I was hooked I "needed" another Subaru. I ended up buying a 2008 pearl white Impreza hatch. Here is a pic of the car a few days after I got it; was well taken care of by previous owner.

What started as just a coincidence, has now become the colour scheme of the car, black on white with red accenting I like it, and that’s all that counts at the end of the day.

Hexis/3m 1080 cf – hard to beat ebay pricing

On with the pictures, Excuse the iPhone camera, but I’ll try to include pics that show most mods, Enjoy

Here’s a link to one of my photobucket albums that contains most pic’s of my hid retrofit

    How she currently sits ☺

    and all the little details

    Subwoofer box

    Lights

Bad lighting but you can see the effect of the painted cut-off shield

Better Night time pics to come

And just so you know why I CAN’T close that wheel gap just yet:

My little suby is already a snowplow at stock height in Thunder Bay winters lol. Only time I got stuck was when I was hung up on the frame

And the obx catback waiting to be installed

what better to do on your birthday then have the day off work, have a lift available, and just so happen to have an exhaust to install? YAY!!!!

First things first, tighten up the front endlinks (just installed last week, and tightening incase anything loosened)

Stock Exhaust out (and a nice view of the whiteline sway bar )

    Side by side

I still dont know who could have ever conceived the idea to make a muffler THAT big! its ridiculous

    Installed

And just random pics I hadn't posted yet:

More pics of exhaust to come. I will try to get around to taking night pics of the headlights, and possibly a sound clip or two of the exhaust

    Headliner dropped

Just look at all the nice shiny undampened sheet metal... Lets fix that:

now my car has wont sound like a tin can in the rain! btw I've already done my doors and hatch area, so the roof was the last on the list.

side note: LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE SIDE AIRBAG!!!

More pics and even a Vid!!!

    Lights (Finally!)

    Garage pics first

    Just Fogs

    lows + fogs

Highs (bixenon + halogen) + lows + fogs

And here are some other pics

Saw your car parked at LU today, noticed you don't haver the gutter rails in lol Removed the other vinyl I'm guessing. A subaru thing is something those without subarus won't know haha

It's the slowest model for this car, but its quite quick. 2.5L boxer with 170hp/170tq
and with my swaybars and end links it now handles like a go-kart in the turns! and with the symmetrical AWD it will do what it does in any weather on any surface!

Katty's sti is the top model with the turbo'd engine, 6spd trans, and stiffer suspension, wide body . otherwise same unibody/frame, interior, etc.

If I could afford it, then I think I would put up a good run that would be very competitive run an event in a flooded, or snowfilled lot and there wont be any other competition other then Kattty haha

But with all the school/living expenses right now I can't justify the $70 it would cost me (50 membership+20 to race if I remember correctly)

$70 is CHEAP FUN in motorsports!!!! How can you pass that up?? A night out will cost you more than going to autoslalom, and as a student, you can't tell me you won't go out. Seriously, order your textbooks online (instead of the ridiculous book store) and use the money you save to go play.

haha..those gutter rails are out awaiting you to put my new vinyl on

I've actually had barely any time to look at my car, but..since YOU mentioned it, i'll go put them back on right meeoww

and Might I add sir...you better come to autoslam...we gotta rep the subaru brand!!! It's honestly one of the best 70 bucks you'll spend..like previously mentioned..great group of people, great cars..and tones of fun!
