    King of the street

I had a chat today with 1 of the organizers from Dragfest. They are concidering having a 2nd race this year but instead of a test and tune making it a little more interesting. They are thinking about all cars being street legal plated and insured....testing in the morning a short drive to schriber and back then a cool down period. After this the car makes 3 passes. They are looking for input from the racing community to see if anybody is interested, to set up some rules that are fair for everyone etc. They don't want this to turn into a Dragfest type event with all the expense but more of a racers having fun enjoying their cars more than once a year......anytakers?...there might even be a grudge style race where drivers could call out their buddies. ......Lorne

They were thinking of making up jackets for the winners and were also looking for volunteers and maybe a sponsor if anyone has 1 in their back pocket......Lorne

Sounds like a lot of fun, I'm sure several people would be interested. They should make a Facebook page for dragfest and make events to get the word out better.

Agreed! I think this would be an awesome idea. I guess they got tired of seeing plated imports in the pro and super pro class, beating tub'd out big blocks.

Sounds likes fun! If it would be around the same time as the test and tune was before I'd definitely be interested.

Sounds like fun. What's their definition of "street legal" going to be though? Like if I see some tubbed big block on slicks with no exhaust and plates that's a little fishy

A second race would be awesome, I don't care much about how the rules would work.

    Re: King of the street

Would the car need to race exactly how it is during the test cruise? Example: removing exhaust, changing tires, changing fuel etc ??

I think that would be a fair way to claim the title king of the streets. The pass would have to be made as if it takes place on the street.

With the traction at Terrace Bay, everyone would be faster on a random street.

    Re: King of the street

Lol. Right on the money Mode! Fuel shouldn't matter but I agree with Curt, must race as driven on the streets. No swapping tires, removing weight, adding nitrous(which isn't street legal). Not trying to sound like a baby but just look at the hot rod fastest street car challenge, those cars aren't "really" street cars anymore.
