    Re: Grocery Getter Build

So I just drove the hardest 120KM I've ever driven. I didn't make a single pound of boost at all. Worth it. 100% City driving.

Average is way down because the auto robbed loads of fuel before I swapped it.

Lucky I only get around 23-25mpg in the Rabbit... mainly highway. What's even worse is the bimmer gets about the same. What RPM do you usually shift at?

Unfortunately it's pretty much the only colour offered on the wagons in Canada.

That's the guy I bought my nozzles off of. Also over twice as much as I paid for mine.

    Re: Grocery Getter Build

Looky looky what I just won on eBay for $160 for my wagon. GLI/Anniversary Edition/337 GTI rear vented setup.

Now just have to round up some VR6/1.8T spindles for the front.

    Stock TDI/2.slow brakes:
    Front: 280mm x 22mm (11.0" x .87") vented rotor
    Rear: 232mm x 9mm (9.1" x .35") Solid Rotor

VR6 uses the same rear, but a thicker rotor and much more surface area for the pads in the front, plus larger caliper.
    Front: 288mm x 25mm (11.3" x .98") vented rotor

And my new rears will be nearly the size of my fronts:
    Rear: 256mm x 22mm (10.1" x .87") vented Rotors

With the VR6/1.8T fronts I can go as big as I want from there, since the TDI/2.slow integrates the carrier and spindle, so you can't do any upsizing. The GLI front brakes uses same hub and caliper and pads as the VR6 set up, but the rotor is 1" bigger. Just need the carrier to change to that rotor.
