Nvm I looked again when I wasn't half asleep. Yes it is the idler arm, get use to replacing those lol.

Idler arms are easy, Cale showed me how by doing it in like 3 minutes, the next time I had to do it I believe it took me 30... No big deal..

Yeah I thought that was the pitman arm too and when I opened the box that I ordered from rockauto this is what I got:

So I'll order the idler arm and install both (plus a brand new windshield) after it gets safetied this Wednesday at KC Automotive (thanks Cale).

    Update:
I've got good news and bad news.
Good news: safety was done and all I need is to replace the front windshield and replace/tighten the front left wheel bearing.
Bad news: I fucking locked the keys inside the truck and the spare key doesn't work. FML...

At least now you know the spare key doesn't work. Better than finding that out when you're in a really bad spot

    Re: Jessly's 1995 Toyota Pickup re-build

    Another update time:
Cale found out some other minor issues the truck had a few days ago.

O2 sensor wasn't on properly... So I tried to fix that:

    Then this happened:

So after cursing the import gods I said fuck it and moved onto the oil change. I think it's been a while since they changed it..

Used good old high mileage oil as she's pushing 300K plus

Then the oil filter wouldn't budge, and I didn't have a filter wrench. So after more cursing I was lucky that my neighbor had one and some mechanics wire to tie the loose O2 sensor into the bung:

New windshield was replaced courtesy of Apple Autoglass (good guys to deal with too!)

Then got an alignment done at Auto One and they adjusted both front bearings for me as well. Now all I need to do is bring it back to KC Auto this Monday and she'll finally pass safety!

So did more things. Truck finally passed safety and she's all plated. I found more things to replace/fix though. First up the wipers:

Then I bought these nice new floor mats:

    To replace these old ones:

Then started cleaning up the interior:

Then a new air filter to help her breath better:

Tomorrow we tackle the leaking fuel line.

The other floor mat on the driver side had a massive hole in the middle so yeah not worth saving. I kept the back ones
