    Jessly's 1995 Toyota Pickup re-build

Yay another toy! So I managed to get this Toyota finally under my name last weekend so off it went to my in-law for some much needed TLC. Upon first inspection some of the key areas that needed to be addressed were as follows:
    1. Rust... Rust... More rust... Did I say rust yet?
    2. Steering knuckle needs to be replaced. I've checked rockauto and no dice. Anyone have a spare one for a '95 Pickup v6 4wd?
    3. All four tie rods and Pitman arm need to be replaced.
    4. Cracked windshield on drivers side. Doesn't impede visibility but we'll see if it'll pass safety
    5. Brake lines need to be bled and possibly change brake fluid
    6. Air filter was disgusting. Didn't take picture it was that gross
    7. Oil needs to be changed. Looked at the dipstick and it looked like black molasses
    8. Box has multiple holes (insert sex joke here)
The goal of this build is to get it up and safetied so I can use it as my DD/winter vehicle and my wife also wants to make it into a capable off-roader. It'll take time but I've got tons of it lol.

    Here's the rust problems

Looking at the front suspensions and what's needed to be replaced

    That cracked windshield yo!

So first thing, action shot using the good old angle grinder

And after a couple of hours here's the carnage

Then a few sheets of galvanized sheet metal and some rivets after...

So we ran out of time and my father in law won't be back for another 2 weeks so the repairs are on hold again. Plus I had to order the tie rods and Pitman arm from Rockauto so I'll be waiting on that. Still need to find that damn Steering Knuckle though...

I'm not sure James... He just wrote down steering knuckle on the "Jessly get these parts for me ASAP" list. If anyone can clarify what that steering knuckle is (Napa and part source didn't have it either) please enlighten me. Hey ihateusernames if you're reading this I need a steering knuckle

I mean I've never in my life seen a knuckle go bad. I'd look into that more

I've never even heard of a steering knuckle :p I'll ask the in-law more about it when he gets back into town and take pics of it

Ohh rusty toyotas and body work. After working on mine for almost a year and having to sell it because I moved away for work... I said never again :p Nice garage though.

    Good luck!

Just a little bit of update: majority of the rust has been sanded off and new sheets in place to cover the holes. We used fiberglass patches on the smaller ones:

    Re: Jessly's 1995 Toyota Pickup re-build

Update time. I skipped out of AutoSlalom yesterday to work on this thing.
First thing: Cale or James (or anyone else that knows) what is the name of this part? I may or may not need it (passenger side)

The tie rods were replaced. Old and busted:

    New hotness:

Then it's more body work. Used fiberglass on the box to fill in the holes:

Then body filler is applied on the new sheet metals:

Then sanding, sanding, and more sanding:

Then a new exhaust hanger was McGuyvered:

Drilling new holes for the liners and trim:

Wife came along and helped name my truck:

De badged. Hmm I may leave it like this maybe...

Then a couple layers of primer and this is what she looks like now:

Now all she needs is to get safetied and she should be back on the road. Hoping to get that done this week sometime.
